Cocoweb’s Classic LED Plug-in Picture Light has been specifically engineered to make use of the latest lighting technology to illuminate the world’s oldest form of artistic expression: painting. Designed by artists who themselves have struggled to properly strike a balance between clarity and preservation, the low voltage Classic Picture Light issues a light at a color rendering index (CRI) of over 90. that deepens the beauty of the painting’s reds and blues without causing the colors to mutate or to fade.
These lights produce a warm glow of a color temperature of 2700 degrees Kelvin – a degree on the light spectrum very similar to the quality of light produced by the sun on a clear summer’s morning. Not seeking to draw attention away from the work of art, the lamp itself is a modest appliance with a plain rounded shade available in antique brass, black, brushed gold, chrome, mahogany bronze, oil rubbed bronze, satin nickel and white.
The 24-inch Classic Plug-in Picture Light is attached to a wall mount with a fully rotating ball joint mechanism, allowing it to be positioned at many different angles as per the gallery’s requirements. The LED technology issues clean colored light and also contributes to environmental sustainability by using 80 percent less energy than traditional incandescent light bulbs and by possessing a lifespan that, on average, lasts 40 times longer than the standard bulb (50,000 hours versus 1,200 hours); moreover it does not contain any of the toxic mercury that is necessary for incandescent light bulbs to function.
