For 27 days, Kutcher coordinated the entire home improvement project from Los Angeles with his stepdad, Mark, through Houzz, an online design site in which he is an investor of.

Upon seeing the brand new basement, Diane tears up and exclaims, "Oh, this is beautiful!" Kutcher had transformed the basement into a cozier living area and made more display space for his mom's antique collection and her homemade salsa cans.
